A Season for Giving
By Susan Brown
The holidays remind us to think of others and do our part to improve the lives of those around us. In this spirit, the Fox Run community will be hosting a food drive to benefit the Food Pantry of Plainsboro Township.
Food donations may be left in the boxes in the leasing office or dropped off by the rent box near the rear of the building. The Plainsboro Food Pantry is in specific need of:
- Sugar & sugar substitutes
- Cold cereals – whole grain & sweetened
- Hot cereals – farina, oatmeal, grits
- Pancake mix & syrup
- Fruit – canned or packaged; low-sugar preferred
- Meals – canned; beef stew, chili, mac n’ cheese, mac n’ beef
- Meals – boxed; mac n’ cheese, Hamburger Helper, Goya beans and rice, taco mixes
- Tomatoes – cannes; crushed, diced, paste, stewed, whole
- Pasta sauce – jarred
- Noodles – dry; no pasta please
- Potatoes (boxed) and rise; plain or mixes
- Breadcrumbs
- Condiments – ketchup, mustard, mayo, oil, vinegar, salad dressing, BBQ sause
- Jellies & jams
Fox Run residents are also welcome to bring their little ghouls and goblins by the leasing office on Halloween day for a treat and some cider.
